Different Approaches To Healing & Well Being
Diana McNamara, MA, PhD
Hi,
Welcome to The Holistic Life Project!
I am a qualified researcher with a passion for connecting people with the latest evidence based findings in medical research. It all began with my parents being health nuts. Something I am extremely grateful for and often took for granted in my childhood. In the early 1980’s my mom was limiting foods with nitrates and BHT (words which meant nothing to me then). Those early years created an outlook and perspective which has only expanded and grown as the years have gone by.
Over the last several decades I continued to build on that knowledge base as I faced my own personal health challenges. Obtaining a PhD as a mature student further improved my ability to find and evaluate information. In the face of several somewhat dire diagnoses, I was able to return to excellent health time and again from applying all that I learned and read. More and more people around me started to ask questions and express an interest in how I was managing to do this. I think they were most inspired by the hope they saw from my own healing. As I shared what I was learning with friends and family, I realized that there was a real need to connect the public to the vast amounts of evidence-based research that is available but not publicized.
It takes an average of 17 years for much of this proven research to even enter mainstream thoughts about healing or, in some cases it is never publicized. Further, there are many books published in the last decade with vital information on new ways of approaching health and healing. Understandably, reading all these books doesn’t necessarily appeal to most people. It is time consuming and can feel overwhelming. Although marketed for the general public, these books are hundreds of pages and can be a boring read for some people. I draw on my knowledge of these books, help connect people with information on the specific issue they are interested in and make it all a bit less confusing.
The high emotional and financial costs of disease and poor health are very real and painful. It tears me up inside to see people suffer when I know there is information out there that can help. I’m excited to empower people to truly heal themselves and enjoy a much higher quality of life. Using my research skills, I can help glean what is most needed for your unique circumstances from the vast amount of knowledge that is currently available to the public (if you just know where to look).
Evidence based medical research is rapidly shifting our entire understanding of exactly what is happening inside the human body and what it really needs to be in balance. It is vital to get this information more widely disseminated to the public. The Holistic Life Project allows me to do that through public talks and private consultations.
Book a private consultation with me and we can discuss your concerns and help shine a light on new options and sources of information you may not be aware of. I encourage my clients to share the information I provide with their GP. Discussing the findings with your GP allows him or her to then incorporate and monitor results within a proper treatment program. Healing is a highly personal journey, but it is always smart to keep your GP involved.
During a consultation we will identify your primary health concerns, get some background on what you have been doing to address the issue and identify appropriate strategies for improving your overall health. I will then research the main issue we discussed and provide you with a summary of the options available to you and cite resources for you (and/or your GP) to review. These can range from research papers published in scientific journals and books to websites and videos. You are also welcome to browse the information and links on our website at any time.
I hope you will take advantage of all that we are offering here at The Holistic Life Project. Let's change your perspective on how to properly manage your health, what your body really needs to heal, and learn about the new, paradigm shifting research on healing disease and poor health.
